Happy New Year

Happy New Years to everyone!
At the end of the year, it’s a good time to look back on the past year and see how it went. For me, it was a very interesting year.
It began off badly. The Tsunami really put life in perspective, and made me feel really sad for a while. There was no one to blame, no crazed president, no war, no terrorists. It was just a blameless act of nature that killed so many people.
Even at a personal level, the year began badly. I discovered that my parents would never accept me as I am, and would rather continue believing I am as they want me to be. I granted this wish for them, but it was the nail in the coffin of our relationship. It was never great, but at least I used to think that it could be good one day. I also despise lying, especially to people I love.
Thankfully, the rest of the year was totally different. So much so, that I think it tops all years previous. This past year I worked harder than I ever have at school, while still working part time, and seeing friends and family regularly. It was a great feeling, and I even got an A in Marketing, and hopefully another in Developmental Psych. During the year I also met many new people, and had some great conversations with them. They enlightened me, and hopefully I was able to do the same.
Also, I began the year with an almost obsession with news, politics, culture jamming, and a desire to live a life in totally opposition to commercialism. Thankfully, over the year I have found a balance again. It was a fun ride in which I learned a lot about the world and myself, but it’s nice to like society again;). A big thank you to you all for bearing with me through it =).
The year was topped off with an awesome trip to Vegas where so many experiences were had. Overall, this year I really learned what my life motto means:
The struggles always made you stronger, and nothing perfect lasts. But that’s okay, because the pursuit of perfection only leads to the discovery of flaws anyways, which are also okay to have.
(If that made sense to you, then you truly have been around me too long!)
So, what’s in store for the new year? Who knows, life throws so many curve balls, eh? But, I think 2006 has these in store for me:
-I will graduate from University.
-I will continue studying to complete my Marketing certificate, or get another degree.
-I will probably keep working at BP part time.
And, that’s all the certainties that I can come up with. That’s it for me, now it’s time to start drinking!
Happy 2006 to you all!

Vegas Memories 6: Jason

Our trip would have been half as great if it wasn’t for my friend Jason. He took us out almost every night, showing us the coolest clubs, restaurants and bars. Through him, my friends and I met many new friends, and we’re all grateful for that.
I met Jason three and half years ago in Vegas, and liked him immediately. He made my trips to Vegas with my parents much less boring. We kept in touch, and I then tagged along with him and his friends to New York this past summer. Not only that, but he helped me find direction in school studies, and life in general. Although nothing more came from our friendship, I am super grateful for it all the same. I’m sure I’ll see him again this Summer in Vegas (when I return with my parents=P).

Brokeback Mountain

My friends and I saw this movie last night. I didn’t know much about it, but Sreng had told me about it before. I’m glad that he got us to see it, as it was great.
It was a story about forbidden love. These two cowboys meet while working together, and fall in love. Only problem is that they live in the south USA, and it’s the sixties. I won’t tell anymore of the story, just that you should all see it. The theatre was filled, and everyone seemed to like it. It’s the first romantic drama I have seen since........well, a very long time! It was a refreshing break from the ordinary as well.

Happy Chanukah

To anyone who will be celebrating over the next few days, all the best to you. Open gifts and play lots of dreidel (someone has to show me how to play). Please leave a comment if you do celebrate, and tell us what you did.
To everyone else reading this, it’s Boxing day! What are you doing at home, go shop shop shop!
You know you don't like the gifts you got, and want to buy something for yourself. Remember that our role is that of consumer, so make sure to consume or else someone will lose their job!=P

Today is also the one year anniversary of the tsunami that hit Asia last year. Watch CBC Newsworld (ch 26) tonight for a show about it. It was the most tragic event occuring in my lifetime so far.

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate!
Open gifts, eat lots, and have fun with friends, family and loved ones.
I'll be at my Aunt's house with my Nonni, cousins and parents. I should be stuffed when I return at night.
If you do celebrate, leave a comment telling us what you did.

Vegas Memories 5: Krave

Krave was the second coolest nightclub that we went to. Jason brought us there with his roommate and Joel. It is at the Aladdin casino, which is a very cool.
At the club, there were stripper-dancers, a cool DJ, and even a puppet show that featured Canada as a story line. It was really fun. Out of all the gay nightclubs we went to, it was the most extravagant. Actually, they call themselves an “alternative club,” but whatever. The music wasn’t memorable, but the overall experience was.

I learned quickly not to stray to far from my friends though. One man called my tie a cock-ring, tried getting into my shirt, then tried getting my hand in his pants. “What can you get for ten dollar?” Nothing buddy! Then I met a women with the largest breasts ever (yes, even larger than pregnant Hungry Judy's). A nice, well rounded evening.

GoodStorm

Here’s a cool online store/charity called GoodStorm. They sell t-shirts with neat and meaningful messages/images on them. They then donate a part of the sale to a charity. Check it out!

Chocolates!

Yesterday we did it again, now the fourth year in a row. It was the annual chocolate truffle making party at my house. This time Veena, Sreng and I called in help from Sheehira, and Vicky. Before that, Jackie came by and we played a few video games. I introduced her to Resident Evil 4, which I think she enjoyed, or at least gave her nightmares (eh Jackie?).
Today I met my group at school, and I think we finally worked out a project to do. I went to the gym after that, and then I did some homework at the library.
Oh, and my blog is constantly being improved. Now anyone can leave a comment, you don’t have to join Blogger. There’s no excuse not to leave a comment now!

Vegas Memories 4: Ka

A few days after seeing Mystere, Veena and I went back to see another Cirque Du Soleil, Ka. How was this one? Different from Mystere, but also amazing. This one had more fighting, and a more emotional story. I didn’t follow the story, but it was something about two twins, they get separated, and then people fight to get them. The stage in this one was even more versatile than the one in Mystere. The stage changed from a boat, to a beach, to an ice wall, to a vertical fighting area and then to this fantastic sight:

(Yes, it is verticle, with people walking up it!).
Then, through the use of lighting and music, the set was transformed into a sea, with people sinking and swimming from the ceiling of the theatre, to below the stage. Sound unbelievable? It was. Oh, and each person’s seat had built in speakers in the headrest, giving you true surround sound.
After these two shows, I’m totally spoiled. I swear we would have seen the other 3 Cirque shows in Vegas if they hadn’t been on hiatus.

Vegas Memories 3: Mystere

The third memory is of seeing the Cirque Du Soleil show, Mystere (click to hear some of the music). It was absolutely breath taking. The opening scene with a big fat baby and an even bigger ball was hilarious. The costumes were out of this world, with creatures that stood about 5 meters high, walking across the stage. The stage would rise and fall, bringing these creatures up, or sending them below. The performances by the acrobats seemed out of this world, they climbed up bars with their legs alone, then would swing from the ceiling. The production gave me shivers, more than once. Everyone should see this show. The music was perfect too, so much so that I bought the soundtrack afterwards. Actually, the performance was so good that we went back for a second serving of Cirque a few nights later.

Vegas Memories 2: Studio 54

Going to Studio 54, period. It was the most awesome club ever, and that’s saying a lot since I don’t really like clubs that much. But, the clubs in Vegas were so great, and Studio 54 was the best one out of all the ones we went to.
There were dancers everywhere, even hanging over the dance floor. And these were real dancers, who could dance very well (and were extremely hot, yet classy at the same time). There were acrobats flipping on the walls, and the most incredible DJ’s ever.
Now, there is a back story to this one, which makes it even better. The night before, Jason and his roommates (Favian, and Luis) took Sreng and I to a bar/club called Free Zone. It was a cool little place with a wicket drag host, and alright music. I lost the other guys for a few minutes as I toured the place. While near the bar, I heard someone call out ‘hey’. At first I just kept walking, thinking that they probably were not calling me. But then I thought, “what the hell,” turned around, and sat at the booth with these two guys I didn’t know. We started talking, and I discovered that they were both really cool and smart. Scott was 22, and Eric was 25. They were best friends, and were out after a day at work. Eric invited me to studio 54, and said that he’d get me on the VIP list. Then we were interrupted when a confused looking Jason found me at this booth (okay, I had left him and our friends, and that wasn’t very nice. But, thank god I did, as I got to meet Eric, who turned out to be an amazing guy). I left with Jason and Sreng then. The next night I told Sreng we were going to 54. I called up Eric, he put us on the list, and we skipped the cover (which I believe was $40) and the line. We didn’t get to meet up with him that night, but I did bump into him again at another bar. That’s another story though.

Vegas Memories 1: Wine Night

Who wouldn't love me, eh? I had bought a bottle of wine for the three of us to enjoy. But it turned out that Sreng and Veena don’t like wine, so it was all mine. I was a little tipsy after that, and I think I made a bit of a scene on the bus that night. I was good once I got to the club though. Wait til you see the "drunk Veena" video though! More Vegas memories to come.

Arrived

Tonight became today, and later is now now. I’m back home, in sunny Brampton. Thank god the sun is out today, I think I would have started crying at the sight of cloudy weather. Okay, I’ll admit that I did tear up while on the plane though.
Our trip was fucking awesome, the best trip I have ever taken. We met so many interesting people, and did so many fantastic things. Each time I return from Vegas, I get a new perspective on my life, and what my future could hold. This trip was no different. There are so many stories to tell, but they will come in time. Right now I’m too tired to type so much. It’s sad to be home, away from all the bright lights, late nights, and exciting adventures.
Oh, and the airport lost our luggage. They said that they’ll send it over as soon as they find it.
I'll be waiting!

Leaving Today!

hello everyone! Tonight Veena and I will be leaving sunny Las Vegas. It was the best trip ever. We did so much, time flew by. Club after club, bar after bar, Pooncho food (and lots of Pooncho parties), legal and illegal drugs, love, fun, shows, hang overs, thowing up. It was great. We'll have lots of pictures and stories to share when we get back. See you all on Friday or Saturday!

Friday, December 09, 2005

HEY

Hi everyone! I'm having a great time in Sunny las vegas. It's warm and beautiful! We went out for Sushi yesterday, and then went to a small bar at night. It was a blast! My time is running out on this internet machine, see ya'll soon!

Tuesday, December 06, 2005

Bye!

Goodbye everyone! It's off to Vegas time, I'll see you all when I get back!

BP Christmas Party

Well, another BP Christmas party has been had. It’s my fifth, a fact that I find hard to believe. It was a lot of fun. It’s always nice to have everyone together, relaxing and eating. There was food this year, thank god, although it was all deep fried. I don’t think I’ve eaten so much fried food in years. There’s still nothing that compares to BP Christmas Party 2003 though. Rosie had me for secret Santa, and got me a gift certificate to Prince Sushi. How great is that! We should all got together sometime this month. Oh, and I won a prize this year! A $50 gift certificate to Donato's. Jackie won a huge bath product set that weighs a metric ton. Speaking of metric, we never got our requested Metric song. I don't even remember what songs were playing last night, except for Hung Up, which got everyone going. Til next year.

BP Christmas Party soon!

Wow, how quickly a week can go by. This was one of the busiest weeks ever. Most of it was spent writing up my thesis proposal intro, which I finally finished today (it took the whole day to proof read!). Now I just have an exam to write tomorrow, and then I will be off to the Christmas party. And then it will be Vegas! How great is that?
Work was a blast yesterday, even though I was so sleepy. Jackie worked, which was great, but Nancy was off again (for her Bday).
In election news, this week we saw Harper make a broad range of promises: changing the charter to not include gay marriage anymore, cutting the GST by 1%, and improving healthcare. He said “no tax is a good tax, and I don’t like any taxes.” Kinda scary when you think of all the services that ride on those ‘bad’ taxes. How the hell does he plan on improving health care? Oh, privatisation! Now it makes sense. Honestly though, he is doing well. He has taken the leadership role, and is making promises that people will care about (except the gay marriage thing). I think he might just win a minority.
New pet peeve of the day: Coughers! I know you’ve heard them. There those people who cough every few minutes, like clockwork. It’s that dry cough, with the mouth wide open. No covering of the mouth (probably because they cough so much). What’s wrong with these people? What they hell are they coughing for? It’s not like they’ve got phlegm or something. They cough more in one day then I do all year, honestly. There was once a female cougher on the bus, and I had to move because I was going to throw up all over her. She had mastered the cough, sticking her tongue out in rhythm with each open mouth cough.
Oh, and I finally listened to Madonna’s new cd. Actually, I’ve heard it playing everywhere I go: at the mall, at Ego (hair salon), at the gym, and in school. And now it plays in my home. I think the cd is great. Better than her last. Who knew she could come back so strong after American Life? She did! That’s it.

Another Vote...

Today I spent my day working on my thesis. I went to class, the gym, and ate in between. That was my day. I got lots of work done though.
So there goes the government. Everyone saw it coming, but it's still frustrating. It's only been 17 months since the last election, now the Conservatives and NDP want to waste our money on another election. What do we know now that we didn't the first time we voted? Nothing. The conservatives keep going on and on about the "sponsorship scandal," but does anyone really care? Are we supposed to believe that they would not have done the same thing? Come on! Stop wasting our time and money, and just run the fuck’n country already. Pass that damn decriminalisation of pot law, and the other 30 or so (that are now dead). Now comes the plastering of signs all over the country. Is that at all necessary? What are we supposed to use those for? "Oh look, he has the best smile, I'll vote for him!" Unfortunately, I don't doubt that this actually happens.
Oh well, like I've said before, it could be worse. Just look to the south, where Evangelical Christian fundamentalists fight aborting laws, but are almost at the 1000th person executed because of the death penalty. Or, how their main focus is pushing Creationism into the school text books, while taking a blind eye to the fact that their country is using chemical weapons on people in other countries.
Okay, that's my rant for tonight!
Oh, and one week til the BP Christmas party! Who will get the drunkest? Who will dress the sluttiest? No, the biggest question of all is: Will there be food this year?!

Bake: Chemical Weapons found in Iraq

So, there are chemical weapons in Iraq after all.
Now for the sickest part: It was the USA who brought them there and used them during their attack of Fallujah. If you haven’t heard this news yet (which means that you totally managed to avoid all news outlets for the past few days), it’s time to listen up. The USA army has now admitted to using a chemical weapon called "white phosphorous" which burns through the skin and flesh of people who encounter it.
Don't know the history of this attack? The city Fallujah was a major strong-hold of fighters, the US had little control over it. So, they evacuated all the women, elderly and children (leaving the prime men behind), and then levelled the city. During this attack, we now know that they used this chemical weapon against people that were still in the city. Italian journalist reported on these facts last week, and the army has confirmed it.
Oh, and if you remember, the first few nights of bombing on Iraq were called the "shock and awe" campaigns. Now we know that their attacks on Fallujah were called "Shake and Bake." First they would "shake" the home and building (with a bombing), then "bake" anyone in there with the white phosphorous. I'm not even kidding here.
Find this outrageous and hypocritical? What can you do? Well, many are saying that the USA should be charge, or at least investigated for this crimes.
This is where we come in. We need to make sure the UN know how we feel about this. You can write to the Canadian part of the UN here:

canada@un.int and here: prmny@international.gc.ca

Here's the most tame picture I could find of the effects:

If you want to see the real effects of the chemical, click this link. Be warned though, this is the real costs of war.

Busy week, and Election Coming!

So the school week is over. I got so much done this week, and am proud of that. I still have lots to do though. I need to get some serious homework done on Sunday, or I face another crazy week.
Madonna’s new cd came out this week, and I’ve heard two songs off it. Very good, I can’t wait to hear it all. I think I’ll wait till Vegas, it’s tradition to hear the new Madonna cds there.
Talking about the trip, I can’t believe that it’s only three weeks away now. I’m getting more and more excited as the time draws nearer. That week will also be the BP Christmas party, which is also very exciting. I can’t wait, rumours are that there will be food this year! God please, food!
But first I’ve got three more weeks of school to get through. I don’t mind though, bring on the work! I did really well with my Advertising presentation on Monday. The professor liked it so much that he asked for a copy to use in his other class! Wow, I didn’t even think it was all that great.
Tomorrow I don’t get to go see Harry Potter with Michelle as I’d never be ready in time. I haven’t seen the other three, so I guess my tradition continues. Once all eight come out, I’ll watch them back to back to back. Michelle, I’ll need your strength to survive that!
This week also confirmed that we have an election coming up. What’s the NDP thinking? I guess they see that they’re up in the polls. I hope that the Conservatives get even less seats then before. Stephen Harper vowed during the Summer that we would make turning back the laws on gay marriage part of his election promises. Guess that ain’t happening Harper! Why, during your summer visits and BBQs, did you realise that no one agreed with your opinion? Loser.
I like elections because of all the excitement and tension, but just hate having to see Harper’s face everyday. Hope he makes a fool of himself again this year.
I have also promised to educate you all before the next election, and I will hold true to that! Watch for party breakdowns, and election coverage made simple. Where? Right here on this blog of course!

Brandon and Owen

Today is Sunday, and what are my plans? To go to school of course! I’m going to get some work done, so that hopefully, next week won’t be as hectic as last.
Next week also has a very big release! No, I’m not referring to Harry Potter, I haven’t seen any of those films (although I do want to). I’m referred of course to Madonna’s new cd. Her fist single and video are super cool, and I can’t wait to hear the album.
On Friday my friends and I made four pizzas and watch the new Crash film. The pizza was good (mine was the best), and so was the movie. It seemed a bit far fetched, but I think it’s because we live in such a multicultural and tolerant area (on the surface at least). I loved Sandra Bullock’s character, that was really sad.
Work yesterday was fun, except 9 inch was sick, and didn’t come it! I also didn’t get to see you Jackie. Now for the best story of the day! Yesterday at work, I looked over to the hostess area, and saw this little boy point at me and yell “hey! Remember me!” And I did! I had served him, his littler brother and parents about year ago. I was like “oh course!” He then came over to me a grabbed my hand and said “can you be our server!?” And I said “ya, of course!”.
They two little brothers are so cute and smart. That boy, Brandon is about 8 I think, and his little brother Owen about 3 or 4. They talk so much, and Owen always copies what Brandon does and says. Here’s some of the conversation between Brandon and IB-How old are you?
S-22, how about you?
B-I’m 49
S-you are?
B-no, I mean 22 like you.
S-wow, then you must be in school like me
B-When is your birthday?
S-June 10
B-(his eyes light up) Wow! Mine in June 8th!
S-Wow!
B-Do you have a birthday party?
S-No usually, I usually have exams around that time
B-Can I come to your party?
S-I think your party would be more fun
B-Do you want to come to my party?
S-Sure!
These little guys made me feel so happy, they were so nice. Their parents are also really nice, and able to stay calm with all the talking. This was the highlight of my weekend. They also promised to come back again, soon than a year from now. I can’t wait! It was so busy while I was serving them, that I didn’t have too much time to talk to them. But, I made the time and made my other tables wait: “You fatties at table 81want a fourth refill of pop? You have to wait, because I’m talking.”
Okay, so I must go eat and get ready for school=(

Beliefs

Here are some sites on the belief system Spiritualism. I have been following it for over four years now, and many ask me what it is about. Basically it’s the belief that we should be kind to all, experience lots of good and bad, and grow as a person. Not that different from other beliefs/religions/faiths. Except, there’s no hell, no devil, and there is reincarnation (if and when you do choose to), and communication between our physical world, and the spirit world (“heaven”). Earth is where we come to learn, and experience all the bad stuff that happens here. I don't following this strictly, but believe in most of it.

Annoyances

I had my developmental psych class today, and the prof had us writing like mad. It was crazy! Then, after class I continued to re-write my notes from last week (because they were so messy), and what did I discover? Wow, we just rewrote half of last week’s notes again in today’s lecture. So that was a bit annoying. What else annoys me?
Here’s my list:

-People who play their Mp3 players so loud that everyone around them has to hear the music.
-people who make noises in the library (talking, laughing, clicking pens, shuffling papers, etc)
-cell phones going off, anywhere that had been quite. I think all phones come with a vibration options, USE IT!-people who stop walking when getting on an escalator. MOVE IT lazy ass, your holding up the line!
-people who walk slow in a busy play.
-a group of people who block off a whole hallway, and walk slow.
-The design of the computer lab at school (too complex to describe this one).
-people talking on cell phones, on the bus, in study areas. Actually, anywhere! Who the hell wants to know about your problems!
-people using MSN messenger at the computer labs at school, while I wait to type my millions of research studies for my thesis. You’re at school loser!
-the same as above, but when they are playing games. I don’t even have to be waiting for a computer, it’s just stupid to be doing at school period.
-customers at work who ignore you. They could be on the phone, talking to someone else, or just ignoring you period. “Hello? Okay, I’ll give you some time.”
-the buss being late, or leaving early.
-this one brown girl at my gym, who I can’t stand. I also can’t stand her boyfriend or their friends. They are the stupidest people in the world. What does her workout schedule look like? Here it is:

Abs: lye on my stomach, put my head up, resting it on my hands. Arch my ass up in my tight workout pants, and swing my bent legs side to side. Do this for half an hour, while my man watches. Wait til he tickles me, then laugh like an idiot. Then, pretend that I don’t want him to do it again. “No, don’t, no don’t. he ha he”
Arms: Hang on to my man’s arm, have him pick me up, and check my hair in the mirror. Do ten reps of hair checking, then take it out of its pony tail, and then put it back it. Begin checking again, and giggle to my man.
Legs: Sit on the machine, while my man teases me for ten minutes. Try to do one rep, then give up and just sit there. Wait til my man messes my hair, then run back to where I will do arms again.
Wow, I’m tired, what a workout! Now, I’ll go stand around by the lockers with my man and friends, while we all act like we did in grade 5. Oh, and redo my make up! he he!

She’d be happy to be tied up, wrapped, and put in a box that says “free toy for any guy that wants a bitch that has no brain of her own. Batteries not needed.”

Few, I feel better now. Honestly, all that stuff only bothers me when I’m in a rush. And considering the fact that I already spent 11-12 and a half hours at school, I really can’t be there any longer.
What annoys you guys? Let me know in the comments section!

Goodbye Halloween, til next time!

OH no, the Halloween themed site is gone. Although I wish Halloween went on forever, all things must come to an end. But, whenever you want to celebrate again, go through the list of horror films I made for you, and rent one. Halloween can live on forever, if you want it to.
This was the best Halloween weekend ever. I had a blast at Kyle’s, got to go to Sreemers on Saturday (well, at least to the parking lot), and then watched The Omen with my friends on Monday night. Now I have lots of candies and chocolates to eat. Halloween is the best! The next big event for me is our work Christmas party. I hope all of you voted for the 5th! It is always one of the funniest days of the year.
Tomorrow the TA's at my school may go on strike, shutting down the school. Blast them if they do!
I’ll leave you with Pinhead’s quote, so that we never forget how cool he is:
“Unbearable, isn't it? The suffering of strangers, the agony of friends. There is a secret song at the center of the world, and its sound is like razors through flesh. You can hear its faint echo right now. I'm here to turn up the volume. To press the stinking face of humanity into the dark blood of its own secret heart.”
~Pinhead from Hellraiser III

A devil, a Playboy bunny, and a Priest

So, Halloween weekend is now in full swing. Last night was Kyle’s party, which was a drunken haze of fun for everyone (unless you were a driver). Everyone was dressed up, and looked amazing. Too bad 9 inch didn’t show up, I’ll have to scold her later. Tracy had a wicked costume, really neat. Oh, and Sandra had some very very large Melanie Marceline boobs for the night. Both Kyle and Juls went as me (you know, Superman), and pulled it off nicely. I went as a very liberal and open priest, who even made piece with the devil, a playboy bunny, and a zombie bride. You gotta be accepting these days. Then I talked religion and faith with Ronald McDonald (or should I say the IT clown!), an heard ghost stories from Superman-Kyle. The most well deserved, relaxing and fun night in a long time. It was also the night of the time change, so instead of it being 5 when I got home, it was now 4. Score.
Tonight is Sreemers, which will be cool. I hope everyone will come, and I finally get to see what a Tonks is. I’ve got to go shower, I smell. Keep is scary.

Elvira and Horror!

Elvira says hi! Halloween is now just two day away . Tomorrow is the 30th, the day that the veil between this and the spirt becomes thin. This continue til Halloween, so keep your eyes and ears open to those who have passed before us. Sunday is now Screemers day, so anyone who wants to come, be there at 730.

Okay, some more horror films for ya’ll!
First up, is Halloween, and all its sequels. I only can only remember the original right now, and it was pretty fun. Like all good horrors should, its got its staple sex scene, and lots of killings.

The Exorcist. Okay, straight up, this one is not as good as you remember it. Actually, you’ll probably fall asleep during the first hour. Don’t worry, you’ll wish you hadn’t had woken up. It gets scary in the end, very scary. Sex scene? Um, no, no, no.

Leprechaun

Halloween FUN times!!!!!!

I feel it in the air, oh the bloody Halloween air! No time of the year is better. Tonight I bring you some more Halloween films to watch.

First up is Critters (and the many sequels). It’s been a long while since I’ve seen these, but I remember that I liked them. I really have to watch these again!

Another series of Horrors that I remember from when I was young is Poltergeist. Not all the films were good, but there are some scary shit in them.

Next up is the cheesiest. Puppet Master, and all the glorious sequels. These puppets are cool, super cool. They’ll do whatever their master wishes. In the later sequels they turn good and fight off the aliens/monsters. Ya, they really stretch it in these films. But, you have to at least see one, they’re classics! Oh, and if you thought it ended there, you don't know about Retro Puppet Master, a prequel to all the rest. (Oh and don't forget Puppet Master vs. Demonic toys)

I am sooo excited about Halloween this year. I hope all of you will be at Kyle’s, it will be dope (literally). Hopefully some hot single chicks will attend (or in the very least, some submissive open men), I trust Kyle won’t let me down=).
I really need this time to chill out, oh god yes. I need to drink and smoke up some of the luxuries of life!!!! God yes, it’s been a while. The Russian blood in me thirsts for Vodkee, it’s been tooooooooo long! Lemon drops all around bitches, you’d beta be able to keep up with this Slovak!

Alright, so Screemers is still on. Some are saying they want to go on Sunday instead now. I don’t know, or care. To me it’s cool either way. Teigen, at work, booked off the Monday already though. Let me know what’s best for you.
See ya later!

Screemers!

Hey gang! So, who’s up for a night of scary places and Halloween frights? Screemers is held at the CNE grounds, and is wicked fun. Follow the “GOING TO SCREEMERS” link on the left for all the pricing and location info. So clear your calendars, and book off work for the 31st of October (a Monday night), because that is Screemers night! Be there at 9:00, preferably with a cool costume. After Screemers, the night is ours to do whatever else you want.
Talk to you later!

Horror Films part 2

House of 1000 Corpses. This is a fun and scary film about a deranged southern family who likes to torture and kill. The sequel just came out this year too, The Devil’s Rejects. Both were made by Rob Zombie, and both will be enjoyed by horror enthusiasts (like me!). One of my Christian friends after viewing the film said to me: “take this back, I feel like I have let the devil into my house.” Really.

The Undead. Now, not many horrors give me real chills, but his one did. This is creepy because it features a monstrous baby that likes to eat meat (preferable raw). The mother has to choose whether to continue loving her baby, or killing it. The choice for me would be easy,

KILL DAT TING BITCH!

This is a must see, I learned so much interesting information here.

Horror Films

So, it’s the greatest month out of the year, and it’s time for Halloween. With Halloween comes the need to see a great deal of horror films. Here’s a few really good ones to see this month:
Hellraiser. Any one of the films is great, and Pinhead is such a cool character. He is such a great talker, and has a small army of Cenobites at his command. Oh, and get part three (the unrated version if you can find it) if you want a wicked sex scene, and the best Pinhead dialogue ever.

Childsplay. Okay this one was an obvious choice. Part one was so great, while part two kind of sucked (almost seemed like it was being aimed at kids). I remember part three as being pretty good though. But, then we got Bride of Chucky which was so cool. It had the perfect balance between atmosphere, sex, scares, and jokes. The music was just perfect, and Jennifer Tilly looked incredibly good. Chucky’s bride was awesome, and they made a perfect match. But then Seed of Chucky came along, which did not follow Bride’s formula of success. It was more jokes that anything, looked really cheaply done, had no great songs in it, and few scares. It wasn’t bad though, just did not live up to the high bar the Seed created. Rent all five films, and enjoy!

The Dentist. Here’s a cool cheap horror. It’s about a dentist going mad after he sees his wife giving head to the pool boy. There’s also a sequel which is equally fun to watch. Rent these with friends for so laughs with lots of gore (some good sex too).

What about if you don’t have a TV with you, and you still want something for Halloween? Ask me for one of the DaRk SiDe of the Mind cd’s.

Hey, Paul...

Have something to say to the Prime Minister?
Maybe it could be that you think University should be free,
or that the CBC should be fully government funded, without commercials,
or maybe that you think marijuana should be decriminalised, or even legalised,
or maybe you feel that the government should work for the citizens, and not the corporation’s ‘consumers.’
Or maybe you have a secret crush on him, and just want to tell him that (okay, this one is a reeeeeal stretch!)
But, I now have the email address where he (or more probably, the group of people who read his emails) can be reached. He works for us, and probably wants to keep his job. Making yourself heard on various issues shows him what the public support is. It is this type of thing that prevented us from going to Iraq, or that allowed there to be equal marriage laws. He has to keep us happy, or he’ll find himself out of a job next year. So without further rambling, here it is: pm@pm.gc.ca
Nice and simple. You now have no excuse to go on complaining about things to you friends, now you have a place to channel those complaints.

Don't Fuck with the Chuck

Just something I stumbled upon. According to this website, Seed of Chucky cost 29 million to make. Wow, where did they spend the other 28 million on, because it surely was not on the film. So, then I checked the cost of Bride of Chucky: 25 million. What the Fuck? Seed of Chucky looked like a direct to video movie when compared to Bride. I don't get it. I guess they paid Redman the other 28 million dollars to be in the film, or the voice of Chucky wanted lots more money after his stint in Lord of the Rings. Or the website is wrong, who knows. Lets just hope they make another, but with a better story this time, and at least try to make it a little scary. Actually, how about we just pretend that Seed took place in some alternative reality, and is not part of the true Chucky continuum. Yes, now lets make a sequel that has that super sexy Jennifer Tilley in some tight black spandex again.
Oh, and bring back her hot car washing neighbour. Mix in a tight story with blood, freightss, boobes, and another killer soundtrack (not that cheap out Seed style music). Film of the year (for me at least!)

BTW-CBC lockout is over, YAY, now I don't have to watch the Antiques roadshow everyday, YAY!

Don't Like Black People

Here’s a cool video that I found on GNN.com. It’s a bit extreme, but the main point is clear. Racism plays a major role in politics today, and we can see that by George Bush’s decisions. Watch it, “George Bush Don’t like Black People.”
Oh, and I still hate philosophy, as I learned once again today in class. It just seems so pointless to discuss so much. Put it into modern day context/situations, then it might interest me. Oh god.

'Come Here Boy'

"Why are you taking so long
You need to come and find me,
honey To set your mind at rest
And let your dreams run free."
~ Imogene Heap
Sometimes it’s nice to imagine, let your dreams run wild. Sometimes, is sometimes always, and always could always be never. When so little is known, you tend to fill in the gaps in your mind with what you hope to be true. A sparkle in an eye becomes an unsaid desire, and a kiss becomes a promise of forever. But if the tongue really did fail to speak, then it’s all but fair to assume what could have been said. Where does the truth of reality end, and your imagination begin? How does one show all signs of love but never acknowledge it there. Yet, how do I allow myself to run free from the confines that I have built, and express my true desires. I will, I will. Even if only in a dream. For dreams can lead to reality, and if you want something really bad, you can almost have it.
"I want to wash up on your shore
More beauty then I’ve seen before
No secret lover will ever
take the place of you"
~ Soulstice

Robbed

Well well well, it finally happened: our house was robbed.
Today, while my parents and I were out, our door was kicked open, and the intruders had their way in our home. They went through the closets, and had their picking. Strangely, they didn’t take much. As far as we can tell, they only took a few of my rings were stolen. They were worth a lot of money, but I never wore them anyways. The worst part of it is seeing that someone has gone through all your stuff. Clothes were thrown around, and things were moved. They could have made off with so much more, but thankfully they didn’t. Also, they didn’t destroy anything, like you so often hear happening. Just the lock on our front door was broken. It was bound to happen sometime, I’m just thankful it wasn’t that bad. By the looks of it, it was some young unprofessional, who just wanted money.
Is this neighbourhood changing? It seems to be.
Last night, I watch “Shake hands with the devil”, a documentary about what happened in Rwanda. Terrible stuff, I taped it for anyone who wants to watch it. If you don’t know what happened, you need to see this. We as humans have some very scary sides to us.

Singularity

For all those fans of the book The Age of Spiritual Machines, get ready for the sequel, because it’s out on the 22 of September. It’s called The Singularity is Near, and further expands on the idea of the melding of machine and human into one being. It should be an interesting read, although I’ve started to doubt the speed at which he has predicted all this to occur. He also claims that the new technologies will solve our problems of world hunger and pollution. I have doubts about this, as I feel that greed will find a way between these goals. On the other hand, many Spiritualists have predicted that this will be the century that people find peace, and move towards a more spiritual goal in life (rather than money). In a hundred years people won’t even need to live on this plane, and will remain in their spiritual bodies instead (no more reincarnations). Kurzweil says that we will find immortality by being able to leave our physical bodies, and become machine. At the end of the century he predicts that immortality will be reached. Two totally different topics here, but I’ve always found their similar outlooks interesting. And I’ve always wondered what would be downloaded into the machine, would it be our souls, or mind (or do they even exist without each other). For example, when head transplants become possible, will it be in the head or the body that the soul stays with (my bet’s with the head).
Okay, now I’m getting really deep. Get the book and think some theories up on your own.
Here’s a link to the website with info:

Control with only one hand

Well well well. Tonight the Revolution was unleashed.
No one knows what I’m talking about, but that’s okay. Nintendo just showed off their controller for their new console. That normally wouldn’t be a big deal, but this thing is different, really different. Jackie will probably enjoy this post, as she’s into gaming. Follow the link: http://cube.ign.com/articles/651/651301p1.html
You’ll be able to download all your old favourite NES games and play them (turn the controller on it’s side). It’s also got some cool feature about using the controller as if you were in 3D space (for new games).
Anyways, it’s the end of the school week for me. The air conditioning is back on at the gym, which is very nice! I’m also still narrowing down my thesis topic. I’m thinking about doing in-depth interviews with gay men in relationships. I want to know about all the usually unmentionables, like why they don’t show affection in public, and if “open relationships” are at all common. I’m still unsure, but this is what I’m leaning towards. It would also free me from doing any stats in my research!
Tomorrow I hope to get together with my friends, and hang out and have fun. It’s always a nice break from school work.
PS- first one who posts a comment gets whatever they want from me!

Long class

Wow, school is so super busy this year.
Today I had my philosophy/marking class. I never really liked philosophy, and now I dislike it even more. What’s the point of it? Today our prof just kept talking and talking: “what is truth, what is belief, how do you know which is which? When I was young I had a friend who liked to box and start fights... I was a Marxist...I am a Socialist... I read Hitler’s writings to previous classes, people got upset...Is democracy truth?” Then a student starts: “Well our society is set up with beliefs, that we see as truths, but are there any truths if beliefs are all truth which are beliefs....blah blah, (drifted away)... truth, belief... blah blah”. Then someone said something even more confusing, using the words truth and belief about three times each in the same sentence. Wow, I could have been watching K-Os, who was performing at my school at that time instead.
Thankfully, there is a advertising half to the course, so it should pick up then. There is actually another professor who will be teaching that part, so I won’t have to listen to this guy (who is smart, it’s just not my thing. Really, who cares that you got blood work done today to see what’s wrong with your foot. He told us this three times!)
Oh, and I now fully believe that my Thesis class professor is smoking something strong before class, or ate a few too many mushrooms in her early years. I feel high in that class from just listening to her!
Anyways, I finally got to tape “The Boy Whose Skin Fell Off” two nights ago. Anyone who would like to watch it, just let me know. It’s about a guy who’s going to die in a few months, and allows us to follow him through his last days. He’s got a skin disease that prevents the skin from sticking together, resulting in constant open wounds all over his body. His outlook is so positive and inspiring throughout the whole thing. With the support of his family, faith (Spiritualism), and his humour, he deals with it all admirably. It’s only 40 minutes, so it’s a short view.
One more day of school, and then it’s the weekend. I can’t wait to go to see my friends, and have some fun!

The "News"

"We paid $3 billion for these television stations. We will decide what the news is. The news is what we tell you it is."
......said by station manager, David Boylan, at Fox News.
Sounds like an interesting way to present the news, eh? Well, this post is about the Monsanto-Fox news scandal that you have probably heard me speak of. In summary, this is what happened:
At Fox news, a few reporters uncovered some facts about cows that have been injected with Bovine growth hormones. These hormones cause them to produce an unnatural amount of milk. Studies showed that this milk could be carcinogenic (cancer causing). When the reporters wanted to air the story, Fox news stopped them. The rest of the story contains bribes, lies, and court hearings. Please read some of the info on these links for the fuller story. Oh, and yes, they still sell this milk in the U.S.

Oh, and don’t worry about our milk. Health Canada has never approved Bovine to be used in our cows, although many are pressuring them to do so.

"Demons be goooooone!"

I just have to get something off my chest:
Evangelical Christians, stay put in the southern conservative land that you came from. Where does that statement come from? Well, I’ve been hearing stories from fellow servers about people preaching Jesus to them. Actually, I’ve served these people too. Now, Jesus is cool and all, but not what I have been seeing. The scene is always similar: One fat, white, American, and a family of newly immigrated people (or they are at least pretty new to the country). These so called “missionaries” seem to be trying to recruit Canadians, in a growing movement to spread conservatism. (Or is it about the money that they would “collect” from these people?) Actually, it would not be fair to limit this to immigrants, as all Canadians are probably wanted. It's just that those new to the country are probably easiest to sway. I’m tired of people believing in Benny Hinn, sending him money, and believing that they will be cured. I’m tired of the conservative crap that flows out of US networks (Fox News anyone?). I’m tired of hearing about states passing laws AGAINST gay marriage, and human rights. I'm tired of hearing people try to debate whether evolution should be taught in school, or have it be called an "unproven theory" (ya, because we all know that there's proof that humans and dinosaurs walked side by side). I'm tired of Americans getting miffed at some sex scene in a game, but not caring about the violence in it (GTA:SA). I’m sure that Jesus would not promote violence over sex. And, I’m really tired of people trying to spread that bullshit to our country. Extremist American Christian groups have admitted to funding anti gay marriage groups in Canada. Yes, in Canada!
I say, mind your own business. Join some crazy Mormon group and have 50 wives if you want, just leave us alone. And while you’re at it, take your British Colombian-mormon-polygamist-colony with you.
There's my extreme rant for the month, thank you for listening.

Back to School!

Today was my first day back at York U. It’s only been a month since I was last there, but there are new buildings open, and more new policies. One which actually works out is the new online registration for a GO pass certificate. Much easier than waiting in a 1-2 hour line. Finally, an improvement that really improves the student’s life!
My Research Methods Prof. seems like a real stoner/hippie. She just talks and her thoughts wonder all over. We had to introduce ourselves, and tell our favourite dishes. She then tried desperately to remember each person’s name. Put it this way, I had to tell her my name 3 times, and mine was the simplest of the class. By the end, she was calling one guy Crystal Ball, and another Sunrise. And the workload is absolutely unbelievable. There are at least 2 things do each week, and that does not include our big projects and exams. Plus the text readings, and research gathering. In my philosophy class, there will be a 28 page assignment due (on top of other shorter ones). Good god, 28 pages to fill!
I also got to see some familiar faces, and many new ones. I spent $300 on books, and plan on spending much more.
Tonight, I finished taping “The Power of Nightmares” on newsworld. You’re all welcome and encouraged to borrow it. It’s about how politicians now use imagined fears to further their policies. The main thesis is that Al Queda, as a world wide terrorist organisation, does NOT exist. Also, I’m right now taping “Children of Beslan,” so that too is for anyone who wishes to view it.
Over and out!

No Longer a Strip Club Virgin!

“Shake your dicks
Shake your dicks,
Shake your tits
Shake your tits”
~Peaches

I had another dream to write about. This is a short one. My teeth fell out, and I was keeping them to bring to the dentist (so that she could put them back in). Some little brat/bitch took them while I wasn’t there, and broke them (some of them were still attached to pieces of gum. Ya, sounds gross). She found it very funny, but I was pissed.
What does it mean? Well, I used to have these dreams all the time as a child. I think these dreams represent a fear of body decay or long term injury. I don’t know though, that’s just a guess. It was probably spurred by the fact that I’ve been wearing my retainer again.

My friends and I went to the EX on Sunday, which was fun. Lots of walking and eating. Vincent and Vicky came too, so that was cool. The air show was amazing (although I didn’t catch the Snowbirds). After that, we went downtown and I had a“first” in my life. Sreng took us to a strip show! It was my first time there (or to any strip club for that matter), and was what I expected it would be. It’s usually an all male affair, but Sunday is “women’s night”. One very special friend also got a private lap dance by a Latin lover=0

Tomorrow is the first day of fall term, and I’m excited. I can’t wait to get a bit farther in furthering my career, and ultimately, my life. The sooner I finish school, the sooner I can really start my life. Moving out is my next big step in life. I know it will be a big one, but I know it will really mature me as a person. So, now it will be back to the old routine -study, study, study, study, friends, work, work, study, family and going to the gym in between of all of these. Time to get ready for tomorrow!

Children of Beslan

Well, I got my CBC fix last night with the airing of the new doc “Children of Beslan”. Wow, it totally blew me away. The children from the school told their stories of what happened, and it was incredibly powerful. The hell that these children went through was unimaginable. I didn’t tape it, but please watch it when it airs again on CBC newsworld. This is a must see because it shows the spectrum of humanity of both the terrorists and the hostages. Here’s a link to the HBO site for the doc, there is a lot of good info here as well.

Pooncho Party

I just got back from a Pooncho super party. It was probably the last for the next few months, as school is back in session soon. For all those who don’t know, a Pooncho party is when we go to Pizza Hut buffet (or some sort of buffet) and stuff our stomach and Poonchos with lots and lots of food. It was big fun. It was nice because even Sreng was able to come. Also, it was goodbye to Jackie as she goes off to school now. I’ll miss you, work wont be the same while you’re gone!
Yesterday Veena and I went to Canada’s Wonderland and went to the water park. That was lots of fun. It got cool, so we had to cut the fun short as I had started to freeze to death. I think the summer weather has gone, and it’s all downhill from here. Our 8 months of coldness will be starting soon.

Killer7

Just finished a game called Killer7. For anyone who's into weird and "different" types of films, this is the game for them. The controls are easy to learn, and the story is awesome. I don't get it all, but it was still a cool experience. The music, graphics and narration bring this to a totally different level, unlike any other game. It has a lot of social commentary on wars, US world dominance, and terrorism. It's one game that you can learn a few things from. The story was made by a popular Japanese director, and the game was coded by Capcom.

This is the last game that I will get to play for a long, long time now. It's back to school time.

Television

End the CBC strike now, I can’t take it anymore!!!!!! I always knew I was an addict, but now I can’t take it. They showed the same episode of Venture three times yesterday! I miss the National so so so much=( I feel sad without the CBC. It’s so bad that I even caught myself watching Trading Spaces this morning. Oh god, I feel like painting a room now. Last night I even watched All My Children for the first time in ages. Oh, and great news, Vanessa is coming back! Her leaving was the first reason why I stopped watching. Now just bring back Lena, Bianca, Boyd, and Aidan. Then throw them all in bed together =0

Black Cherry

"Excite me, ignite me
Oh and you know,
I miss you,
I kiss you
Oh and you know
Black cherry
Black cherry
Stone
" ~Goldfrapp

I was thinking about how I should organise this blog, and what it should be about. I've decided to keep it random, dealing with things that interest me. Whether it be love, politics, favourite songs, or random thoughts.
Right now I feel like writing about love.
Love to me is NOT in the vain of: I cant live without you. To me, finding someone you love just makes your days brighter. You certainly could live without them, but it would be nicer not to. Love is that small bit of excitement that you feel for the person, or the way mundane routines become more interesting when they're around. It could come in the form of a best friend, pet, parent, child, or partner.
My problem with love is that I usually close up when it's near. Love can be a scary thing sometimes, especially when you're not used to it. I think my greatest fear is that it won't be reciprocated. Why try, and risk getting hurt? I'm learning to take that risk.
I have a black cherry in my life. One that I have seen only a few times, so few that I could count them on my hands. Does it matter that his values are different than mine? Does it matter that he has never told me that he even likes me more than just a special acquaintance? Does it matter that he lives kilometres and miles away from me, and that the chances of anything working out are slim?
Not when the person teaches you a hundred things about yourself in only an instance. Not when they break down the walls you have build, and crack the ones you never even knew where there. Life is liveable without love, but it is so much greater when it's around.
I won't spend my waking hours missing, I have a life to live. But, I will treasure everything that has come from this, and grow from the knowledge I have learned.
Isn't that the purpose for life anyways?

Running from the cops

Last night I had the strangest dream, (not uncommon for me) so I thought I’d share.
I was in a department store with Veena, and suddenly Hitler was there. I knew that he had control over the country, so I thought I could do something about it. As I approached him from behind, I realised it wasn’t really him, just one of his men/soldiers. So I stabbed him in the back with a knife. I scared myself from this, and I didn’t really know what to do after I pulled out the knife. I thought I had to continue, for the sake of the country, so I stabbed him again, not as deep this time. He wasn’t dead, but I knew people would soon come after me, so I ran. I ran out into the parking lot, and got in Veena’s car. I drove away, while police began showing up. I got away, and was surprised that they didn’t stop me. I then found myself in the forest somewhere talking to some other guy. He told me that it would be best to turn myself in, as I wouldn’t get too long in jail (because I didn’t kill the guy). He said that he had stabbed someone too, and got off with only a few years. So, I went to a part of the woods where the police had set up their command station to look for me. I went up to the “chief” and said “I am the man you are looking for”. He said “okay, give me one second, I’m in the middle of things”. He then turned around and walked into a small tent. I waited there for a few minutes then left to get changed into more comfortable clothes at home. So at home, I kept thinking, “Oh shoot, I should have just waited there.”
And then it ended with me feeling anxious to get the whole thing over with.
What does this mean? Well nothing. My dreams usually fall into a few different formulas. This was the typical “everyone is after me, I have to run away from them, and hide”. Usually they’re more akin to the body snatchers storyline, so this one was a bit original.

New York New York

I went to Manhattan on the past weekend for two nights. I went with a friend of mine, and his friends. Manhattan was just what I expected, lots of stores and lots of busy people. Our hotel was really nice though, we stayed at the W hotel. Five of us shared a room, a very small room. The company is what made the trip great. They were all super cool people, and I made new friends. I look forward to seeing them again.
We went to many restaurants and saw a show off Broadway. It was called Alter Boyz, and was very funny (Christian boys turned boy band).
While in Manhattan, we passed a women lying on the street yelling out ‘I haven’t eaten today, I haven’t eaten today’. This scene made me have to hold back tears, as all around me where nicely dressed people holding their Gucci, Banana Republic, etc. bags. No one even looked, or even pretended to care. How does someone end up on the street like that, there are places for them to get help right? I’m not judging any of the people around me, as I too did not help her. Why didn’t I help, could it be that I fell into the bystander affect? Next time I will help, right?

Slip Away

"Last night I took a trip,
like I always said I would,
into your dreams.
Do you remember,
or was it just me?"
~SiSe
Welcome all to my little space, a little place where I can find refuge away from a world so busy, selfish and needy.
Who am I? I don't know. I'm the confused soul you see wondering the fields trying to find meaning in all the small instances of life.
I'm the one who then disregards all that and says that they all don't really matter. I'm the living contradiction, totally okay with saying that the question can be answered a number of ways, and that I don't know which one is the most correct.
I ponder still though.
Confused? Good, because that's okay. Things are confusing sometimes, and that's okay to admit. I'd rather confuse you than lie to you with false coherence.
At the same time, I have direction and motivation, hopes and dreams of a great future. Confusion is not the opposite of direction, just the means to the end.
I'm also in love and don't really know why, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
